We finally reached the fishing hole .Of course it was all grown in and no where to sit .We got busy getting the weeds and the tree limbs out of the way .The kids and pap got their fishing sticks ready .Pap wanted them to see how they fished when they were kids .He tied string on the end of their makeshift poles and added a hook and of course bait. It was a very joyfull morning and also so funny. We watched the enjoyment that pap got just showing the kids what to do .
The draggon flys and the birds were going about their busness getting their breakfast. They reminded me of the solar draggon fly lights that I have with our solar pond lights . (continued)
Pap was the first one to get up the next morning and then we all heard.”Rise and shin everyone . Lets get some breakfast and head out to the old fishing hole for our supper.” Believe it or not it was not the children that were grumping about the fishing trip..But we all went to the fishing hole.
On the way to the fishing hole we past a little mound of dirt with a make shift cross on it and it said JAKE. Pap said that was great grandpaps dog .A very beautiful yellow lab. Jake was grand paps fishing buddy and pasted away when he was 16 .I have just the thing for this grave site . A solar dog statue.
Jake would always carry the lantern when they went night fishing.
We had a fire going outside in the old fire pit and cooked hot dogs with sicks that the kids gathered up . Boy did that bring back memories. We sat around the fire on old stumps ,which we found laying around the woods and used them as chairs. Pap told stories about him and his brother how they would go into the woods and build a hut out of sticks and mud.
By the time the stories were over and hot dogs were eaten, there were a lot of little guys very tired .We walked back to the cabin using our solar lights.Once we reached the cabin we hung the solar garden lanter up to the rafters so the children would not be scared to go to sleep.(continue)
We also took the little solar table lights and placed them all over the cabin. On the fireplace and tables. What a very nice soft glow we had.
Dad sat down with the kids and told them stories of living in the cabin when he was small. He had alot of stories since he is 93 years old this month. (continue)
Fathers Day is over but our trip to great gandpa’s cabin was great .We wanted to show the children ,my grand children, how their great, great grandparents lived. We packed sleeping bags ,cots and old fashion mattress covers filled with straw , food , drinks and a jug of water. Packed up the trucks and took off. Knowing there would not be any electric there I packed all my solar lights and we left.
Once at the Cabin the children were vey upset. No TV, no Phones, No cell reception “OH MY” But as the day went on they started to enjoy the area and mother nature. The creek was their highlight .We placed the solar plastic lights up and down the sidewalk. (continue)
Decorate your solar garden with corner blinking solar seashells.
Put a few comfort rocks in your garden for the little
solar creatures that want to stay out all night. Little
creatures need to rest as well as we do . Your
solar garden could be a great resting place for the
solar gnomes to do their work or use as a resting place.
Hard work always deserves a good break
.
The pool is ready and the weather is hot . Just the right time to take an eveing dip in the pool. The soft glow of the solar lights are aluminating all around the pool. Such a relaxing evening .
Floating pool lights or the standing pool lights will soften the evening to relax and enjoy.
T’is the season for campers to start traveling.
Solar lights are making camping an inexpensive way to
enjoy camping with the family .
We were just looking up camp site for this summer and
found out now the camp grounds are charging extra for
electricty. Yes we might need it for our hot water and
freg, but our camper has gas also.
So this is going to save us money when we go camping
this summer, also the solar table lights and
solar hanging string lights around the camper
makes it feel inviting.
It seems like you can’t open a magazine or newspaper without reading about the “go green” movement. Everywhere, people are discussing the need to live in a more sustainable and earth-friendly way. And if everyone who currently lives on this planet expects to keep living on that planet, these changes are extremely important. But many people seem to think this kind of movement is going to mean huge sacrifices in the way we live our day to day life. Luckily, that’s not the case.
After all, when it comes to sustainability, little changes in our daily lives can add up to a lot of change. It’s as simple as remembering to unplug your phone charger when you’re done charging your cell. It takes you an extra ten seconds, but there is serious energy conservation to be had, especially if a large group of people started regularly using this practice. Another easy change to make in your life is investing in solar lights. The sun is a powerful tool that we must increasingly harness if we’re ever going to create change, and solar lights are a great way to start going about that.
There is a brown grizzly bear in my garden.
He is a very cute little bear. He is holding a solar lantern while Sitting
within the solar flowers lights and solar rocks lights . Sitting
there under a tree and acting like he belongs there.
None of the other solar animals seem to mind so I guess
he will stay.
