If you have a pool in your backyard, there’s nothing quite as relaxing as going for a midnight dip. That late at night, everything is pitch-black, and it’s often extremely quiet. These conditions make for an extremely peaceful swim. But you want to make sure that your relaxing swim isn’t marred by small safety hazards. For that reason, make sure that you have adequate lighting on the way to the pool, or you might trip or stub your toe trying to get to the pool edge.

Also make sure that you have some floating pool lights. Again, this will offer some basic lighting for safety, but it will also let you see what’s in the pool. After all, anything can fall into the pool if it’s left uncovered, and the lights will let you see if you’re swimming with spiders, bees, or any other animal that might have found residence in your pool. It will also help you gauge where the edge of the pool is so that you don’t inadvertently bump into it while you’re swimming.

Living in sunny Southern California certainly has it’s benefits, and I’m not talking about the opportunity to catch one’s favorite movie stars brunching at a popular bistro. From a weather standpoint, the region cannot be beat. Case in point: I’m planning to host a large pool party next week. That’s a claim that none of my East Coast and Midwestern buddies can make in late October.

Despite the pleasant temperatures, it still gets dark early on the West Coast during this time of year. Since the whole idea of a pool party is to entertain guests out of doors, it’s essential to have a solid, reliable light source out back. We’ve got a few spotlights and porch lights on the patio, but I decided to up the ante with some floating solar pool lights this year. With any luck, the party will be a real hit once again.

I came across this information while researching solar energy. Isn’t it amazing how the government has programs that we never know about?

I hope this is of interest to you.

Pool and Pond Panel

Solar Panels

A lot of people love to wait for last minute deals. Early bird specials seem nonexistent today but they certainly still exist. A few homeowners are putting off purchasing a solar electric system because they think it will be cheaper if they wait. For those who think they’re going to save a lot by purchasing later should consider the current rebates. For those who are unaware of the assistance from the government here are the deals; California residents may receive a state rebate of anywhere from 22% to 44% on the total solar home system cost, federal government will provide a tax credit of 30% on the total cost. In total California resident could be saving 55-74% on their entire solar electric system. Solar  energy panels are being used everywhere in homes,on streets, and in businesses. This panel can be used in your pool with your solar pool lights.

This information will continue tomorrow in this blog.

Floating or standing balls for pool

Summer, Summer ,where are you? Here in Pa..,we are in a snow drift and have been for some time. I look outside and see the pool and boy do I wish summer was here.

When it does get here I am prepared .The floating solar pool lights that are still in a box are just waiting to be put in the pool. To tell the truth I cannot wait! Just the thought of floating around the pool is heart warming .

These standing solar pool lights are constructed to either float in the pool or stand erect around a pool or pond . Now, with an imagination the steaks can be placed any where you want to have decor lighting. Down a path to your garden or down the edge of a drive way.

And just think how Fido would feel if he had a light outside that little dog house of his. Each light has a rechargable battery that loads up on energy during the day light hours and spills out the light when it gets dark.
Very little up keep or none at all.

While all pond owners are able to enjoy their pond during the daylight hours, it’s often more difficult at night. Even with illumination from the periphery, it can be difficult to see what’s moving in the water. The solution to this is floating pond lights. These lights can illuminate the area both above and below the surface of the pond, allowing the viewer to appreciate fish, frogs, and insects that tend to frequent the water at night.  Floating pond lights are also great for fish and frogs because they attract insects like moths which can serve as food.  Most floating pond lights are solar powered as well, which makes their installation and operation simple and energy efficient.  You can use floating pond lights in ponds with different depth levels and during all seasons.  Watch and be amazed as the pond is illuminated by a floating light!

Floating solar lights are available from various retailers online and are quite affordable on even the most modest budgets. Because the lights are solar powered, there’s no real costs for upkeep and the lights will last for some time to come.
